WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM THIS MORNING TO 6 PM CST TUESDAY. 

WHAT: MIXED PRECIPITATION EXPECTED. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 3 TO 5 INCHES, WITH LOCALIZED AMOUNTS UP TO 6 INCHES, AND ICE ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO TWO-TENTHS OF AN INCH ARE EXPECTED, PARTICULARLY OVER PRICE COUNTY. 

WHERE: ASHLAND, IRON, WASHBURN, SAWYER AND PRICE COUNTIES.

  • What’s New: Winter Weather Advisories have been issued
    • Northwest Wisconsin and adjacent northeast Minnesota counties: in effect from 9 AM Monday – 6 PM Tuesday
  • Rest of northeast Minnesota: in effect from 6 PM Monday – 6 PM Tuesday
  • 3” to 6” of snow over much of the region
    • Locally higher amounts possible along far northern sections of the South
  • Shore of Lake Superior
  • Snow to begin this morning in northwest Wisconsin, and this afternoon/evening across northeast Minnesota
  • Heaviest snowfall expected this evening through Tuesday morning
  • Wintry mix of freezing drizzle, snow, and potentially freezing rain across portions of northwest Wisconsin – potentially significant ice accumulations in Price county
  • Roadways may become slick, along with reduced visibilities
  • Hazardous travel expected for the Tuesday morning commute
