WISCONSIN — A Fond du Lac County woman has been convicted of human trafficking and related charges after admitting to facilitating the sexual assault of her own daughter for money, according to a press release from Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney.

PRESS RELEASE

On Tuesday, District Attorney Eric J. Toney announced that Elia Antonio pleaded guilty to Human Trafficking, Failure to Protect a Child, and two counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping and was found guilty. Judge Laura Lavey revoked bond, and a sentencing date is anticipated to be set after the co-defendant’s trial.

The investigation reflected that both the defendant and the co-defendant were illegally in the United States.

The convictions stem from an alleged sexual assault of the defendant’s daughter, in which she provided her daughter to the co-defendant, on March 18, 2024, to be sexually assaulted for approximately $250.

District Attorney Toney stated “Today is a step towards justice for the survivor and holding the defendant accountable for her despicable actions involving her own child. The co-defendant’s trial date is scheduled for June 23, 2025, and he is presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty.

Help is available with the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 888-373-7888 or text “INFO” to 233733. Local resources are also available with ASTOP’s 24 hour crisis line: 920-926-5395.”

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office investigated the matter and it is being prosecuted by District Attorney Eric Toney and ADA Kristin Menzl.
