Carrie Ione Madison, age 64, of Rice Lake, WI, died Saturday, July 5, 2025 at her home. She was born on July 6, 1960 in Shell Lake, WI to Vern and Doris “Huna” (Lambrecht) Scribner. Carrie graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1978. She farmed with her mom and stepdad in Long Lake Township for many years.

Carrie married the love of her life William “Bill” Madison on April 24, 2004. She worked as a cook and manager for Lona’s Cafe in Haugen for the last 17 years. Carrie loved the cafe and ran it like it was her own. She loved Lona with all her heart and treated her like a sister and best friend. She loved reading books, flower arrangements, and taking care of the neighborhood cats. She was an active member of the Stanfold Lutheran Church and Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Carrie was a happy, friendly, social, generous, kind, loving, could answer anyone's questions, and lived for her family.

She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Pam) Madison and Jason Madison; 3 granddaughters, Kyla, Rayne and Paige; a sister, LouAine Scribner; 2 brothers, Kurt (Lisa) Scribner and Kraig (Jolene) Scribner; a stepsister, Kathy Taylor; a stepbrother, Steve Walters; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Madison; father, Vern Scribner; mother and stepfather, Doris “Huna” and Clifford “Bud” Walters Jr.; a brother, Douglas Scribner; a stepbrother, Dale Walters.

Memorial Services will be held at 11AM Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Stanfold Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, Rev. John Bergson officiating, with interment in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8PM Friday at the Stanfold Lutheran Church and for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
