Gloria Frances Jilek, age 90, of Birchwood, WI, died Saturday, May 10, 2025 in Spooner, WI. She was born on August 4, 1934 in Weyerhaeuser, WI.

Gloria's mother raised her in Chicago and then moved back to the Weyerhaeuser area. Her mother later married John Morrssey and he was her father figure in her life. Gloria graduated from Weyerhaeuser High School in 1953. She was married to Louis Jilek on October 3, 1953 in Weyerhaeuser, WI.

Gloria was a dairy farmer, a bank teller and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She enjoyed polka and waltz dancing, baking, going on family trips, and loved reading cookbooks. Her favorite line was - I love you more than you know.

She is survived by 3 children, Susan (Gary) Terhaar, Sharon (Mike) Kroll and Brad (Sara) Jilek; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Sirinek; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Jilek; a son, Greg Jilek; her parents, John and Frances Morrssey; and a sister, Eleanor Daniels.

A celebration of life for both her husband, Louis and Gloria Jilek will be held from 4:00-6:30PM on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI. Father Joseph Kumar will be officiating with a private interment at a later date in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Birchwood, WI.

A prayer service will be held at 6:30PM Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals. In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to St. Judes Hospital.
