Janice M. (Kahl) Nedland Bensend, age 90, passed away on May 13, 2025 at Windham House in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Janice was born to Frank and Ruth (Erickson) Kahl December 3, 1934 in Barron, Wisconsin. She married Ardelle Nedland October 24, 1953. They moved to Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota and then returned to Barron to take over her parents’ farm. In 1972, they moved back to Tower, Minnesota until Ardelle’s death. Janice moved to Hattiesburg, and made that her home for the past 34 years.

Janice married Theo Bensend on December 13, 2008 in Hattiesburg and lived there until her passing.

She Loved the Lord and worshipped at Pineview Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Theo; daughters, Katherine Donahoe, Janelle Lowrey and Barbara (Steven) Podpeskar; grandchildren, Lauren (Taft) Alford, Will (Sarah) Lowrey, Andrea (Trevor) Sorensen, Alexis (Benjamin) Greene, Rachel (Will) Letts, Elijah Donahoe and Elina (Brian) Trancheff; great- grandchildren, Rowan Alford, Eloise and Rosemary Lowrey, Alexander Sorensen, Livia and Gianna Greene, Ella, Millie and Noel Trancheff.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ardelle Nedland; son, Paul Nedland and son-in-Law, Scott Donahoe.

A funeral Service will be held May 22, 2025 at Rausch and Steel Funeral Chapel in Barron at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor John Terpstra officiating. Burial will be at Wayside Cemetery in Barron.
