Jeanette “Jeannie” Cecelia Baribeau, age 83, of Rice Lake, WI, died Wednesday, June 4, 2025 in Rice Lake. She was born on September 4, 1941 in Little Falls, MN to Frank and Mary (Lepinski) Deering.

Jeannie graduated from Little Falls High School in 1959. She received a degree in brief accounting from Minnesota School of Business in 1960. She was married to Jerry Baribeau on November 4, 1961 in Little Falls, MN. She then attended Barron County Teachers College with a degree in 1964 and then graduated from UW Eau Claire with a degree in Elementary Education in 1970. Jeannie taught in Rice Lake for many years. She loved to volunteer her time at St. Joseph Catholic Church, and her faith was very important to her.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Baribeau; a daughter, Joanne (Mike) Nelson; a son, Joel (Carrie) Baribeau; 5 grandchildren, Stephanie (Thomas) Ramsey, Katelyn Baribeau, Robert (Beth) Darling, Luke Nelson and Clay Nelson; 2 great grandchildren, Grayson and Callahan; a brother, Lawrence Deering; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jolene Baribeau; a granddaughter, Faith Nelson; her parents, Frank and Mary Deering; siblings, Eleanor Lindeman, Daniel Deering, Maggie Garin, George Deering, Edwin Deering, David Deering and Marilyn DesJardin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon Friday, June 20, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rice Lake, Father Joseph Kumar officiating, with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held from 10AM-Noon June 20 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
