In Memory of Joan Allen
In the early morning of May 30, 2025, Joan M. Allen passed away with her sons by her side.
“I was born in Milwaukee on November 9, 1930 to George and Juanita (Doornek) Clarke. I graduated from St. John the Evangelist Cathedral High School and from Prospect Hall Secretarial School in Milwaukee. In February of 1951, Tom Allen and I were married and together we raised six sons while living in Stevens Point, WI, Lawton OK, Oshkosh, WI, Lacy, WA, Omro, Madison and Superior, WI. We finally settled in my favorite spot in the world, Cable, WI on Lake Owen. I worked for Dr. Kliszcz in his Cable dental office, and later in the 70’s worked at Telemark as a secretary for Tony Wise. I retired from Chequamegon Telephone Cooperative.
The greatest joys in my life (and the biggest worries) were raising my six sons. I love the good times spent with my boys. I enjoy lunch and dinner with friends, bowling, gardening, knitting, my cats and my son’s dogs, Watzon and Fritz.
I was preceded in death by my son, John in 2010, husband Tom in 2011, and grandson, Robert T in 2018.
Survived by sons, Thomas G. Allen of Two Rivers, Eric L. Allen of Drummond, Robert C. Allen of Ashland, Michael J. Allen of Cable, and James C. Allen of Cable; grandsons, Thomas M. (Lauren) Allen of Easton, PA and Joseph J. Allen of Two Rivers; granddaughter-in-law, Jamie Allen, Honolulu, HI; and great-grandson, Jeffery D. Troyer of Superior.” – Joan Allen
