In Memory of Julie A. (Conklin) Sosinski

February 6, 1962 - August 22, 2025

Julie Ann (Conklin) Sosinski, 63, passed peacefully in her sleep on August 22, 2025, at her lake home outside Winter, WI.

She was born February 6, 1962, in Oshkosh, WI, to parents Wilbur and Joan (Boycks) Conklin. She graduated from Oshkosh North High School, class of 1980. After high school, Julie enlisted in the Army, and she was honorably discharged.

Julie married the love of her life, Raymond Sosinski, on October 23, 1981, at Saint Peter Catholic Church in Oshkosh, WI. They moved to Superior, WI, where they lived for over three decades and raised their three sons. Julie worked many years for the Challenge Center, Catholic Charities, and REM Wisconsin, caring for people with disabilities in group homes. Later in life, she moved with Ray to Watford City, ND, where she bartended at Stonehome Brewing and Fox Hills Golf Course. She had recently retired and was looking forward to new adventures. A recent pancreatic cancer diagnosis ultimately changed those plans.

Julie loved to travel, whether it was visiting the glaciers in Alaska, traveling Europe numerous times, or exploring the Caribbean, she was always either on a trip or planning the next adventure. She lived by the motto “Don’t wait, take the trip”. She enjoyed fishing, spending time in nature, hanging out at the beach, and most importantly, being a mother to her three sons. She never shied away from a conversation or sharing her opinion. Although not tall in stature, she was a force. After Ray’s unexpected passing, her passion became helping other widows facing loss. Julie encouraged recently widowed women to live their lives and embrace today. Though she is no longer with us, Julie’s legacy lives on in every life she touched, a testament to a remarkable life well-lived.

She is survived by her sons, Bradley (Elizabeth) Sosinski of Odenton, MD, Wesley Sosinski of Minot, ND, and Matthew Sosinski of Carlton, MN; her siblings, David (Marcie) Conklin, Oshkosh, WI, Jane (Tom) Luebker, Punta Gorda, FL, Karen (Jay) Brauer, Sturgeon Bay, WI; grandchild Teresa Sosinski; and her significant other, Bob Wasylow.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of nearly 36 years.

A special recognition to Bob, affectionately known as “Mr. Big Fish”, who came into Julie’s life when she was in a dark place after Ray’s passing. They made years of memories together, and he cared for her after her cancer diagnosis. Our family will forever be grateful for this love and support.

Julie would want to be remembered for her love of life, the Green Bay Packers, and her devotion to family. Those that loved her will remember Julie for her strength, her bluntness, and how genuine she was.

The family will hold a celebration of life on Friday, October 3rd at Vintage Italian Pizza from 5 pm to 7 pm in Superior, WI, and on Sunday, October 5th at The Roxy from 3 pm to 6 pm in Oshkosh, WI.

All donations will be used in conjunction with the memorial fund she earmarked for the children of the Little Sprouts program in Roatan, Honduras. Julie felt moved by the mission of the Little Sprouts program during her two winters in Roatan. More information can be found at https://www.roatanmission.com/littlesprouts.
