In Memory of Olive I. Johnson
Olive Irene Johnson, age 95, of Amery, WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Willow Ridge Healthcare in Amery, WI.
Olive was born on April 20, 1930, Easter Sunday, to William and Mildred (Markee) Johnson in Amery. She attended school in Balsam Lake, where she graduated in 1948. After high school, Olive met Martin Johnson and they were married in Amery. To this union they had six children. Olive and Martin made their home on the family dairy farm, “Peaceful Acres,” in Amery where Olive remained living her entire life. On the farm, Olive loved her chickens—all 300 of them! She sold eggs in town and to the neighbors. Any time a neighbor came over they were met with a cup of coffee and cookies or other sweets. Olive baked every day and was known for her homemade cinnamon rolls especially. She also loved to crochet and made baby blankets for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Being surrounded by family is what Olive loved most though. Olive was a hard-working woman who never complained, even with her macular degeneration and short battle with stomach cancer.
Olive was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin; daughter, Carol (Rodney) Paulson; and great-granddaughter, Gracie Mae Hush. She is survived by her children, Jerry (Julie) Johnson, Bill (Vicki) Johnson, Marge (John) Oman, Linda (Jim) Rubenzer, and Doug (Shari) Johnson; brother, Herb Johnson; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren with another one on the way.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025 from 12:00 to 3:00pm at Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, WI. Funeral Services will be at 11:00am on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Apple River Community Church in Amery, WI with a visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.
