WASHBURN COUNTY — A Milwaukee man is facing multiple charges after being arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol for operating a motor vehicle under the influence—5th offense—following a vehicle pursuit that began in Washburn County and ended with a crash in Burnett County.
The incident occurred on Saturday, May 17, 2025, when a motorist reported a vehicle driving erratically on US Highway 53 near Sarona. Wisconsin State Patrol officers from the Spooner Post located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Although the vehicle initially pulled over, the driver fled the scene, prompting a pursuit.
Officers later terminated the chase for safety reasons. Shortly after, a passerby spotted the suspect vehicle in a ditch on County Highway H near Point Road in Burnett County. The witness reported that the driver appeared unresponsive and slumped over in the seat.
Emergency medical personnel and law enforcement responded to the scene and provided medical care. Upon contacting the driver, Troopers observed signs of impairment. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of 42-year-old Dustin Michael Przybylski of Milwaukee for his fifth OWI offense.
Przybylski was also arrested for fleeing an officer. He was taken to a local hospital for medical attention and to obtain a blood sample for evidentiary testing. Following treatment, he was transported to the Washburn County Jail.
The Wisconsin State Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
Pursuant to the direction of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicly, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
