
In Memory of Betty L. Callander
Betty Louise Callander, age 96, of Cameron, WI, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 in Marshfield, WI surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 15, 1928 in Minneapolis, MN to William and Lillian (Judge) Cottrell.
Betty graduated from Edison High School in Minneapolis in 1946 and graduated from American River Technical College in Sacramento, California. She was married to Lawrence “Doc” Callander on December 31, 1947 in Minneapolis. Betty was a real estate agent for many years in Sacramento and in the Rice Lake area and was also the first woman project manager for a construction company in Minneapolis. She loved to read, trips to the casino, and being with her family and having family gatherings was the most important thing in her world and life.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Carrie (Allen) Clark and Cathy (Dave) Hagen; 2 sons, Bill (Jackie) Callander and Dan Callander; 7 grandchildren, Jim (Pam) Clark, Amy (Steve) Barker, Christine Schumann, Lindsey (Pete) Cullen, Katie (Ben) Erickson, Jennifer (Dave) Gladwin and Kevin (Cari) Hagen; 23 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence “Doc” Callander; her parents, William and Lillian Cottrell; 3 sisters; and 2 brothers. A public visitation will be held from 4-6PM Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI. A private family funeral service will be held at 6PM.
