
In Memory of DeWayne H. Seeger
DeWayne Seeger, age 90, of Prairie Farm passed away on June 25, peacefully surrounded by family at Dove Health Care in Rice Lake.
He was born on February 17, 1935 to Harry and Bessie (Breezee) Seeger in the Town of Prairie Farm. DeWayne attended Breen School and Prairie Farm School. He was born on the home farm and stayed there his whole life, except when he was in the service. He served in Korea for a year and trained in Washington.
On April 29, 1967, he married the love of his life, Judy Herdahl. They had 4 sons.
He liked teaching the boys how to tune up tractors and cars so that the 2 cylinders would run. He enjoyed working on his tractors and cars, and getting his pickup restored. He also enjoyed salmon fishing, races, dancing, deer hunting was a family thing, as well as prairie dog hunting with his friend William at Vern’s ranch in South Dakota in the fall. He traveled to Alaska just last year and in April, went to Nebraska to see Vern one last time and rode on the beach in Texas this spring. He made many trips to South Dakota to see his Army friend, Vern 3 times a year or more after he retired.
DeWayne loved going to coffee at Twin Town Store. He loved to travel every year starting when the boys were young and looked forward to going with them to look for old tractors.
DeWayne is survived by his wife, Judy, of Prairie Farm; sons, DeWayne, Jr. (Autjima) of Clayton, Bill of Prairie Farm, Keith of Clayton and Kevin of Barron; grandchildren, Austin, Elsa and Maxwell; 5 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Elmer Stolle of South St. Paul, Gary (Julie) Herdahl of Prairie Farm and John LeGore of E Grand Forks, MN; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
<>He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Louveral and Millian and a sister, Josephine Stolle.
A funeral service for DeWayne will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm. A visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Akers Cemetery in the Town of Prairie Farm.
