Jeremy Joe Gowin, age 48, of Rice Lake, WI, died Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at his home. He was born on December 18, 1976 in Cumberland, WI to Larry and Kathleen “Kathy” (Sellent) Gowin.

Jeremy graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1995 and then attended WITC and received a degree in Welding. He was married in August 2005 and they had a son, Gavin together and they later divorced in April 2021. Jeremy grew up on a dairy farm, drove semi truck, worked in the natural gas fields and oil fields, and was also a heavy equipment operator for Source Energy. He enjoyed his hobby farm where he had crops, made maple syrup and all of his animals. He loved everything about life, riding motorcycles, bear hunting, and vacation time in Florida. He will be remembered as a man that would give the shirt off his back, a jack of all trades, a hard worker, loved his job, and remembered anything that someone told him. Jeremy loved talking with people, cared about their feelings, their self worth and loved giving the best hugs and kisses goodbye.

He is survived by a son, Gavin Gowin (Meeghan Allen); his parents, Larry and Kathy Gowin; a sister, Amy (Mark) Dennis; a nephew, Damen Dennis; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Irene Gowin & Delores (Wayne) Kuhl and Walter (Bev) Sellent.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Salem Lutheran Church in Barron, WI, Rev. Fred Buth officiating, with interment in the Wayside Cemetery in Barron, WI. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Tuesday, May 27 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church.
