Robert Eugene Davis, 95, of Cumberland passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, at Barron Care & Rehab. He was born May 11, 1930, in Mason City, IA to Glenn F. and Frieda (Grover) Davis. Bob graduated from Cumberland High School in 1948. After high school, Bob served active duty in the Navy stationed at the naval reserve station Wold Chamberlain Field, Minneapolis. He sailed one year on a Great Lakes One Carrier as fireman.

Bob married Judy Nesvold in Cumberland, WI on July 19, 1958, who passed away on September 3, 2001. Bob later married Marilyn (Baggs) Vig in Shalimer, FL on January 15, 2009.

He graduated from UW La Crosse in 1957, and began teaching in Cumberland that fall middle school eighth grade science and coaching. Bob went on to become the athletic director - basketball coach and football coach. He retired from the Cumberland School District in 1990.

Bob was an avid outdoorsman and loved being in the woods on the river with his best friend Tom or on the lake.

Bob survived by his wife, Marilyn Vig; one daughter, Diana (David) Johnson; two grandchildren Andrea Hoeffling, and Robert (Amanda) Johnson; four great grandchildren: Hudson, Hailey, Kensley, and Macy; three step children: Gary (Claire Janty) Vig, Dale Vig, and Joan (Phil) Oswald; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at First Lutheran Church, Cumberland, WI with Rev Timothy Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Cumberland, WI. Visitation will be from 9-11 AM at the church.
