In Memory of Robert J. Richison

April 8, 1931 - July 28, 2025

Robert James "Bob" Richison, born on April 8, 1931, in Flandreau, SD, was a man whose life was a testament to the enduring strength of faith, family, and the human spirit. He was called to his heavenly home on July 28, 2025, in St. Croix Falls, WI, leaving behind a legacy of love, courage, and melody that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.

Bob's journey through life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his beloved wife, Hazel, and their cherished sons, Terry Richison (Barb) and Brian Richison (Jona). His love story with Hazel was one of mutual respect, devotion, and joy that only grew stronger with each passing year. A proud grandfather to six - Beth Neumann (Brett), Kelly Richison, Rob Richison, Laura Bower (Alex), Jamie Richison (Gretchen), and Joey Richison - and a doting great-grandfather to seven, Bob's greatest pleasure was found in the laughter and achievements of his progeny.

Bob's siblings, Lucille, Doris, James (Sharon), and Thomas (Sandra), along with numerous nieces and nephews, will fondly remember his larger-than-life presence and the wisdom he shared. Although preceded in death by his parents, James and Martha Richison, brother Cecil, and sisters Gail and Ardelle, Bob's memory will serve as a bridge connecting the past to the present and future generations of the Richison family.

A man of many talents, Bob was a patriot, having served his country valiantly as a decorated combat veteran in the Korean War. His experiences on the battlefield were a profound testament to his courage and commitment to freedom. This same bravery was mirrored in his pursuit of education at the Brown Institute for Broadcasting and Quality Control and St. Paul Barber College, where he honed the skills that would shape his professional life.

Bob's deep love for music, nurtured from perfect pitch recognized at the age of six, as well as his gift for writing the most amazing and beautiful music, led him to form the band the Country Squires. His musical prowess not only brought joy to countless fans and earned him a place on the top country charts, but also earned him a place in the Midwest Country Music Hall of Fame. Bob's life was a symphony, with each achievement a note in the grand composition that was his gift to the world.

As a quality control manager, Bob found great satisfaction in his work, often remarking that it was the best job he ever had. His dedication to excellence was paralleled only by his skill as a barber, a craft through which he connected with people from all walks of life, from local celebrities to his own family, who cherished the tender care he took with each snip of his shears.

Bob's Christian faith was the cornerstone of his existence, guiding him in every action and decision. His evenings spent reading his book of prayers and the Bible were sacred moments of reflection and communion with God. An outdoor enthusiast, Bob's adventures in fishing and hunting with his sons and grandsons were cherished times of bonding and appreciation for God's creation.

An inspirational message left to us all from Bob;
I have fought the good fight.
Finished the race, and have remained faithful to my Lord, my family, and my friends:
Bob Richison-

Bob's melody will forever play in the hearts of those who loved him, a sweet, never-ending serenade of the man who walked with God and left the world a brighter place.
